Ranks are given to the player’s according to their performance. Like many other games chess players are also ranked. To determine world chess rankings Elo rating system is used by FIDE (World Chess Federation) which is a governing body connecting different national chess federation. Elo rating system was shaped by Arpad Elo which was previously be used only for chess game but now it is used to rate some other games as well.
